Guiyang was selected as one of the top 20 most beautiful cities in China, according to a recent report released by the China Institute of City Competitiveness.
The evaluation of the top 20 most beautiful cities in China uses the GN evaluation index system set up by the China Institute of City Competitiveness.
The research covers such major fields as living environment, urban planning, urban infrastructure, urban aesthetics and city civilization.
According to the criteria, a beautiful city should have a rational urban plan, advanced infrastructure, compatible buildings, rich culture and a beautiful natural environment.
Benefiting from its 42.3-percent forest coverage rate, Guiyang enjoys a pleasant environment and climate. Such aspects have helped it become a famous tourist city in China.
Guiyang, behind other beautiful cities like Hong Kong, Huizhou, Qingdao and Zhuhai, ranked 19th on the list.
