Heavy rain slammed Tongren, Guizhou province, from July 13 to July 16.
In Jiangkou, the worst-hit county, 66,712 people were affected by the storms as 1,744 houses collapsed and direct economic losses totaled nearly 160 million yuan ($ 25.79 million).

The heavy rain triggered a series of geological disasters，including landslides and flooding. A lot of buildings in low-lying areas were submerged.

Now, the local government has put forward three million yuan for providing disaster relief. More than 200 people, who lived in the worst-hit areas have received special help.
