By the end of September, the import and export of the first three quarters in Guizhou province reached $4.69 billion, increasing 38.5 percent year-on-year, according to the Guizhou Provincial Department of Commerce.
The growth rate ranks fourth in the country and third in 12 western regions following Chongqing and Tibet.
Data shows that the export value was $3.39 billion, a year-on-year growth of 68.9 percent. Imports totaled $1.3 billion, a 5.8 percent decrease from last year.
In the first three quarters, the import and export volume in the private sector reached $1.83 billion, an increase of 568.5 percent year-on-year. The private sector made up 39.1 percent of the province's total import and export volume, an increase of 31 percent compared to the same period last year.
The import and export of state-owned enterprises reached $2.64 billion, 8.5 percent lower than last year. It accounted for 56.2 percent of all trade, a decrease of 28.9 percent compared to the same period last year.
The import and export of foreign-funded enterprises reached $150 million, a decrease of 11.3 percent year-on-year. Foreign-funded enterprise trade accounted for 3.2 percent of all trade, a decline of 1.8 percent compared with the same period last year.
