Around 1930, the 7th Red Army, led by Deng Xiaoping and Zhang Zhiyi, stayed in Hechi three times and reorganized itself. Today, you can still see 55 slogans and six drawings from the Red Army preserved on the original walls of a building with national protection as a relic.

It has been designated a Patriotic Education Base in Guangxi and a key national cultural site. Restoration work on the original sites where the 7th and 8th Red Armies were stationed started in January 2010 and was completed in December 2011 when it opened to tourists.

This scenic area will certainly be a new Red Tourism attraction in the district and the whole of Guangxi and be a brilliant way to open all of Southwest China.
