This park, founded in June 2003, is one that the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region will focus on during the 11th Five-year Plan. It got A-class designation in December 2007 and was divided into the Dongjiang and Babu sections for management, the former with a 10.5-square-kilometer area and the latter with 5.18 sq km.

The Dongjiang section is to the east of the Jinchengjiang River and is an administrative, cultural center, with well-developed transportation. The Jinchengjiang-Yizhou Highway runs through it and it is less than one kilometer from the Yizhou-Liuzhai Highway, and has the Guangxi-Guizhou railway line’s Dongjiang station. It is 6 km from downtown Hechi, 240 km from Nanning, 330 km from Guilin, 160 km from Liuzhou, and 400 km from the regional capital of Guiyang in Guizhou province.

Its superior location helps improve market competitiveness and it has plentiful water and power, good roads and street lamps, and communications, TV, and network facilities that fully meet any enterprise needs. Dongjiang uses local resource and geographical advantages to improve its traditional industry and develop emerging, high-tech industries to build itself into a park with agricultural and sideline products processing, machinery manufacturing, chemical pharmaceuticals, biological products and new materials development.

It now has 31 enterprises, including the Guangxi Bodong Food Co, Guangxi Huying Cement, Guangxi Qinde Technology, Guangxi New Dragon Pharmaceuticals, the Sany Group, and the Liuzhou Yanlong Auto Co. It has 15 companies in production and eight under construction and had 1.5 billion yuan in total industrial output, 320 million yuan in industrial added value output, and 50 million yuan in revenues in 2013. It will continue to improve its infrastructure as Hechi urbanizations, and become a modern industrial park.
