CGGC recently held a donation ceremony with Ecuadorian Coordinating Ministry of Strategic Sectors in Quito, the capital city, where CGGC donated 200 thousand US dollars to Ecuadorian government for its post-quake reconstruction. This ceremony was attended by Ambassador Wang Yulin of China in Ecuador, Commercial Counselor Ji Xiaofeng of economic counselor's office in Chinese embassy and Coordinating Deputy Minister Hidalgo Angeolina Amada of Strategic Sectors of Ecuador.

Ambassador Wang pointed out in his speech that Chinese government and people, keeping a relationship of brotherhood with their counterpart across the Pacific Ocean, empathized with them in the experience of the disaster. Wang spoke highly of CGGC for its unremitting endeavors of prompt participation in rescue, donating money and materials, positive integration into the local society, enhancing Chinese and Ecuadorian friendship and so on during the adversity. He also said that CGGC, acting as a trustable and responsible transnational enterprise, had played a bridging role in communications between the two countries and helped to promote their friendship.

Hidalgo Angeolina Amada affirmed CGGC's enormous contribution to Ecuadorian earthquake relief and post-quake reconstruction. She expressed her gratitude to CGGC for its supports in such a difficult occasion to Ecuadorian government and people that demonstrated their ties of brotherhood.

It is reported that CGGC arranged a rescue team immediately after the earthquake occurred and sent them to Bahia de Caraquez, the most heavily stricken area, for humanitarian relief work. The action was highly praised by Ecuadorian President Correa. CGGC employees in Ecuador concerned so much about victims that they spontaneously organized donations, interpreting responsibility and accountability by their benevolence. All of the seven engineering projects undertaken by CGGC in Ecuador have withstood the severe earthquake relying on the first-class "Chinese quality" and "Chinese standard" and actively exerted to the rescue. Take Sopladora hydropower station for a particular instance: its first turbo-generator unit produced electricity of 500 thousand kwh per day to ensure non-stop electric power of earthquake relief work.
