Generous response to New Year's first blood donation drive in Gansu

Dozens of people in the city of Zhangye, Gansu province lined up at blood banks on the Ganzhou district central square and on Zhonggulou square to make donations, on Jan 1, with staff members at one of the blood banks saying that they had 36 volunteers providing some 14,000 ml of blood that very morning.

Among the donors were students from the city’s Hexi University who explained that they were certainly happy to donate because, "It is significant making a donation on the first day of the New Year and we hope to help people in need in our own way." Medical staffs were on hand to give advice to the blood donors.
