CPPCC Gansu Provincial Committee members donate funds to Minqin

CPPCC Gansu Provincial Committee members in Macao and Macao Jingping Middle School held a ceremony in Lanzhou, capital of Northwest China’s Gansu province, to donated 62,000 yuan ($10,249) raised to support the desertification control efforts of Minqin county in Wuwei city.

A total of 42,000 yuan of the donated funds were from Jingping Middle School. The members from Macao and Hong Kong, who attended the second session of the 11th CPPCC Gansu Provincial Committee held in Lanzhou on Jan 12, listened to a presentation at the ceremony by officials of Minqin on the county’s economic development and achievements in desertification control in recent years.

The Mingqin government officials thanked the members of the CPPCC Gansu Provincial Committee and the school for their support, and said they hope to improve their ties with the members in Hong Kong and Macao, and that they welcome more people to visit Minqin.
