The 2016 Cross-Straits Trademark Forum, which took place in Pingtan, on Sept 23, highlighted the island city's importance in cross-Straits relations and brought in trademark experts, and representatives of top enterprises who came to discuss trademark and innovation protection and related matters on both the mainland and Taiwan.

The forum's theme was "Young generation, brands, and innovation" and its sponsors were the China Trademark Association and the Chinese Commercial & Industrial Coordination Society.
