The industrial and commercial administration in Pingtan county has rolled out 22 measures encouraging the development of a Taiwan commodity market.

The market, which opened in June, specializes in the sale of Taiwan-imported goods with a variety of tax reductions, including a 6,000 yuan cap on the personal purchase of duty-free products every day.

All Taiwanese merchants in the market are allowed to put their commodities on shelves for sale?before providing valid quality certificates to the industrial and commercial bureau, according to the new rules.

Registration of the name of Taiwanese companies in Pingtan will be relaxed, as pinyin, Arabic numerals and traditional Chinese characters are now allowed to be used together for the first time, even on the Chinese mainland.

Taiwanese entrepreneurs will be encouraged to engage in more businesses and will get a much faster one-stop service throughout their business registrations.

The industrial and commercial administration also said it will work with local Taiwanese companies to explore a mechanism to crack down on counterfeit goods.
