The Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone in East China's Fujian province reached agreements with a green technology company on June 18 in a bid to create a more environmentally-friendly region.

CECEP L&T Environmental Technology Ltd, a subsidiary of China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group, specializes in the promotion of energy conservation and environmental protection technology and projects.

Under the framework, the company will build four comprehensive systems of informatization for energy conservation and emission reduction, energy conservation of green buildings, management of renewable sources and monitoring of the urban environment for Pingtan.

In the past three years, Pingtan has been making efforts in infrastructure construction and public supporting facilities to improve its ecological environment, which has achieved favorable results as it now has basic conditions for large-scale development and cross-Straits connection, said Gong Qinggai, director of the Pingtan administrative committee at the signing ceremony.

Pingtan is in need of an integrated management and control system for a greener life as it aims to create a low-carbon, livable island city. It expects more cooperation with CECEP L&T Environmental Technology in the future, added Gong.

CECEP L&T Environmental Technology is excited to engage in Pingtan's construction and make contributions, said Zhu Tong, the company's general manager.
