Fishermen put away fishing tools prior to the imminent landing of typhoon Chan-Hom at a mariculture base in Ningde, Fujian province, July 9. The National Meteorological Center issued a red alert, the highest possible level, on Friday morning for Chan-Hom, whose center was spotted 550 km southeast off the coast of Zhejiang Province at 5 am Friday.
