Operations formally kicked off Tuesday at three new free trade zones in Tianjin, Guangdong and Fujian as China opens itself wider to the outside world.
The plan is a crucial step for the country to promote reform and opening up as well as boost trade and facilitate investment, according to a statement released by the State Council, or the cabinet.
China has cut the number of restrictions on foreign investment for new pilot free trade zones in Tianjin, Guangdong and Fujian and also for the zone in Shanghai.
