Ming Qing Garden, China's first private museum of architecture dating back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), is built by the famous Chinese collector Chen Mingqing. Chen is a native of the neighboring county Youxi, who chose Taining as the museum site due to its thriving tourism. The museum was selected as a national 4A-level scenic area in 2014.
