Professor Tao Wenzhao from the Marxism research institute of Renmin University of China offered his interpretation of the report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China on the TV show Zhongguo Zhengzaishuo, "China is speaking", broadcast on Fujian’s SETV on Oct 27.

Tao expounded his understanding of China's new age, new contradictions, new mission, new ideology and new strategies; offered his opinions on a series of issues such as why socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new age; and explained Xi Jinping’s ideology on socialism with Chinese characteristics.

Meanwhile, he paid tribute to China's achievements in the new age, saying that China has witnessed great changes and achieved a lot in the construction of the Communist Party, country and army, and the improvement of the welfare of the common people. In addition, he clearly stated that China’s primary mission in the new age is the rejuvenation of the People’s Republic of China.

In his speech, he mentioned that China has gained a set of new ideologies and theories in the process of socialist construction.

His speech won praise from the masses.

Professor Yan Mei from the school of Journalism of Renmin University of China said that Tao was right in stating that socialism with Chinese characteristics should serve the people and seek truth from facts. Tao’s speech also did a great job in combining theory with real cases, went straight to the heart of the matter, thus solving the urgent problems of the public.

Yue Xikuan, a professor at the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, also approved of Tao's speech, saying that he provided a penetrating analysis of Xi Jinping’s theory, quoted copiously from many sources to support his thesis, thus boosting public confidence towards the realization of the Chinese dream.

The successful presentation of Tao's speech is inextricably related to the hard work done by Zhongguo Zhengzaishuo, the TV program where Tao's speech was broadcast.

Wei Xiaolin, former deputy director of Fujian Television Station, listed four features of the program.

First, it is timely as the 19th National Congress closed on Oct 24th, and in no more than three days Zhongguo Zhengzaishuo made a special program dedicated to the evaluation of the Congress.

The second one is that the program has its focus. For example this program started with its explanation of the five "new”s, which were abstracted from the report. In this way, the great achievements made by the Communist Party of China were clearly demonstrated, and the importance of developing socialism with Chinese characteristics was made clear.

The third is the program invited professional scholars to give an insightful explanation of social issues.

The final one is that the program provided abundant supplementary reports and information to illustrate the topic.
