The Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, in Fujian province, has some new ideas on how to improve its services, Pingtan Times reports, on Feb 7.

The methods have to do with cutting some of the government red tape, simplifying administration approval procedures, and giving more power to grassroots offices, all of which are expected to get enterprises through the application process more smoothly.

For the next phase of development in Pingtan, a key part is building a free trade and coming up with innovations in its work, said Li Dejin, head of the zone's administration.
