Xiamen entrepreneurs took six places on the 2015 Hurun global rich list, issued by the Hurun Research Institute on Feb 3.

Lin Xiucheng, along with his son, Lin Zhiqiang – who heads San’an Optoelectronics Co - held assets of 14 billion yuan ($2.24 billion), placing them the 656th on the list and marking their third time to top the Xiamen rich list.

Ding Shizhong’s Anta Group, despite shrinking 52 percent in a year, came in 3rd place on the Xiamen rich list with 7.3 billion yuan. The famous sportswear company helped Ding gain the top spot in 2010, 2011 and 2013.

Huang Xi, chairwoman of Good First Group, doubled her family’s fortune in the last year, landing her in Xiamen’s 2nd place spot with assets $13 billion.

The US had 537 people on the global list and China had 430. Combined, the two countries accounted for nearly half of all 2,089 billionaires from 68 countries that were ranked on the list.

Li Hejun, board chairman of the Hanergy Holdings Group, topped the mainland list, with total assets of 160 billion yuan, placing him 28th in the world.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates took the No.1 global slot as usual, with a net worth of 520 billion yuan, up 25 percent from the previous year.
