You made the remark at a group discussion of the Longyan Delegation attending the 3rd session of the 12th Fujian Provincial People's Congress convened in Fuzhou.

The lucrative opportunities are highlighted by Fujian being listed on the second batch of the country’s free trade zones and a demonstration zone of ecological civilization, which both reflect the Central authorities’ confidence in Fujian and President Xi Jinping’s expectations of the Fujian people, said You.

The capacity adjustment in Fujian is relatively easy as it is not haunted by over capacity. The key to the adjustment is to roll out new projects adapted to development trends. In addition, Fujian’s environment quality is among the best in the country, said You.

There are enormous challenges ahead for Fujian, too, as You pointed out that the industrial upgrade will add pressure on small industries amid shrinking domestic and overseas markets. The enterprises will find that costs rise while the profits decrease under fiercer market competition.

“The one and only way is to seize the opportunities and prepare oneself for the challenges,” he said.
