Officials and cadres from Longyan city ought to carry forward the glorious traditions of their predecessors to make progress in today's economic development, according to You Quan, Party Secretary of Fujian province.

Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Fujian in November and presided over a military political work conference in Gutian town, Shanghang county in Longyan, which is a famous revolutionary base.

Responding to a popular proposal to create a mechanism for ecological compensation, You said the Fujian Party Committee and Fujian Government had taken the issue into account and plan to increase the ecological compensation from downstream to upstream areas especially ecological conservation zones and headstreams.
