The Rail Transit Command Center, the “brain” of Fuzhou subway lines 1, 2, 3 and 4, is scheduled to begin excavation on Friday, according to the Fuzhou Metro Corp.

The command center, a three-story underground building near the intersection of Guangda Road and Dadao Road in Taijiang district, will be in charge of coordinating the construction of the four subway lines.

The construction was delayed for a year due to tougher-than-expected demolition work near the area.

The excavation for the command center was also difficult due to complicated geographical conditions and restricted engineering time. Workers will have to dig out 110,000 cubic meters of earth over the next three months.
