This article has devised three historical tasks to help accomplish China's urbanization strategy. The tasks are based on an understanding of China's urbanization strategy, and its relationship with industrialization, economic sustainable development, agricultural industrialization, and the socialism new countryside construction.
The three tasks are: giving citizenship to migrant workers, municipal infrastructure construction and urban spatial layout.
The article also focuses on the development path of urbanization, pointing out that the process should consider local conditions, develop in a progressive way, give full play to late-mover advantage, and involve institutional reform. It also expounds on the principles, content and specific guidelines in urbanization planning.
