The China-France Roundtable on Health jointly hosted by DRC and The Victor Segalen Foundation was held in Beijing on June 5-6, 2010 at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing. The 90 senior experts, officials and business representatives actively participated in the discussions on the topics covering macro and strategic issues of the relationship between health and medical development, prevention and treatment, modern and traditional Chinese medicines to health service system, financing and more specific issues like the management of hospitals. Through the roundtable, the Chinese and French delegates have gained a better understanding of the health systems of both countries and have reached consensus on many issues, which set a good basis for further cooperation in this area. DRC President Mr. Zhang Yutai and Minister of Health Mr. Chen Zhu attended the meeting and delivered speeches. DRC participants including Ms Sun Lanlan, Director General of the International Cooperation Department, Mr. Ge Yanfeng, Director General and Mr. Gong Sen, Deputy Director General of the Department of Social Development made remarks at the meeting.
