Beijing's Zhongguancun Science Park is promoting technology and innovation along the Belt and Road in tune with the Belt and Road Forum in Beijing from May 14 to 15.
A Zhongguancun-based SENSORO Technology announced at the forum that it had rolled out its smart guide service on buses, art galleries, museums, and libraries in the city of Manchester in the UK. The service uses big data to create a communication network within a 10-kilometer radius around each attraction.
The network enables people immediately access information while they are in the area.
"The internet of things (IoT) system made in China revolutionizes the way people interact in places such as museums," said Christine Hitchins, Marketing & Digital manager of the Manchester Craft and Design Center.
SENSORO CEO Zhao Wuyang said, "The Belt and Road Initiative provides more opportunities for Chinese enterprises to cooperate with overseas companies and achieve mutual development."
SENSORO is committed to uniting the physical and digital world with advanced sensing technologies, providing solutions to implement easily managed systems that are ideal for smart cities and buildings, asset tracking, energy management, and environmental monitoring.
So far, the company has completed B round funding totaling 124.05 million yuan ($18 million) from Bosch and Sumitomo and other investors. The funding will facilitate the company's efforts to introduce more smart devices along the Belt and Road.
