Dr. Roberto Salvarezza, chairman of Argentina's National Scientific and Technical Research Council, visited Zhongguancun Science Park on June 5. Alfredo Carlos Bascou, minister of the Argentinian embassy to China, and officials of the park's managing committee accompanied Salvarezza on a tour to the science park.

Zeng Xiaodong, director of the park's internationalization business, introduced the park and its recent developments. Dr. Roberto Salvarezza and Minister Bascou, in turn, introduced the functions of Argentina's Scientific and Technical Research Council and its science and technological breakthroughs, respectively. They had in-depth discussions on the possibilities of scientific cooperation between the two sides.

Zeng suggested the two sides build multi-level partnerships, not only between governments, but also among companies. Moreover, he also hoped to promote direct communication through various activities such as the Zhongguancun Annual Forum and Annual Meeting of International Association of Science Parks (IASP).

Dr. Robert Salvarezza and Minister Bascou accepted the invitation to join the Zhongguancun Forum and promised to support Zhongguancun's bid for the 2015 IASP annual meeting, eyeing wider communication and cooperation in science and technology.
