Before entering the publishing industry, Chen served as an executive in many industries, ranging from automobiles, IT and electronics. Those experiences provided him new perspectives for his future business.
Chen founded Cheers Books in 2003 and served as its general manager. He is the first person to introduce audio books to China and has published many bestsellers, such as Balanced Score Cards and other audio book series.
Chen founded Cheers Publishing in 2005, and the company has become a leading publisher in the nation. The company mainly publishes books on economics, management and psychology. It has introduced many bestsellers to the Chinese book market, including Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion and The Economic Naturalist: In Search of Solutions to Everyday Enigmas. Many of them have won major awards such as the National Library Wenjin Book Awards.
