A China-Israel Innovation Day took place in Zhongguancun Software Park on Sept 13.

Roughly 190 representatives from Chinese and Israeli software information and energy industries, intermediary organizations, investment organizations and media attended the event. The event aimed to improve technological exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.

It was hosted by the Israeli Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor and China Ministry of Commerce and was organized by the Beijing Zhongguancun Software Park Company and Israeli embassy in China.

Opening ceremony welcoming remarks were given by Undersecretary Jiang Yaoping of China's Ministry of Commerce; Director-General Sharon Kedmi of Israel's Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor; Israeli ambassador to China Ma Teng; and Deputy Director Xuan Hong of the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun.

Hasson, a chief scientist from Israel's Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor, gave a briefing on innovation development in Israel.

Li Minglin, director of the China Ministry of Commerce, discussed the nation's technological innovation and international cooperation. He noted that China will give priority to China-Israel joint research, technological investment and transfer, and cooperation in outsource manufacturing in the field of strategic emerging industries.

After the opening ceremony, the China-Israel Technological Innovation and Cooperation Transfer Center was officially opened. The center was jointly constructed by the Zhongguancun Software Park Company and Israel Shirat Company. It will play an important role in international technological cooperation and transfer.

The center will introduce Israel's system of innovation, entrepreneurship and business venture to support technology introduction, technological achievements transfer, entrepreneur incubation and industry development in Zhongguancun.
