Gan Jianping, Managing Director of Qiming Venture Partners

Gan Jianping holds concurrent posts as independent director of Ctrip.com (NASDAQ: CTRP) and COGO (NASDAQ: COGO).

He has over 15 years experience in the investment and finance industry. Before joining Qiming Venture Partners, he was CEO of Kong Zhong (NASDAQ: KONG), a leading interactive entertainment website in China. Before that, he worked as a director at the Carlyle Group for five years, taking charge of venture capital investments in China. He also held positions in the investment banking division of Merrill Lynch and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Born in China and educated in the United States, Gan Jianping obtained his MBA at the University of Chicago and bachelor's degree at the University of Iowa.

He has invested in enterprises such as AsiaEC (acquired by Office Depot), Ctrip.com (listed on the NASDAQ in 2003), New Energy (acquired by TDK) and 5play.com (acquired by Disney).
