The State Council has approved the construction of the Zhongguancun National Innovation Demonstration Zone and proposed to push forward a number of innovative enterprises with global influence to build a group of internationally renowned enterprises.

According to the requirements of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Beijing Municipal Government, the demonstration zone has decided to implement the Innovative Company Project. The project provides support to a set of innovative enterprises with expected revenue of more than 1 billion yuan ($158.2 million). They will form a cluster of innovative enterprises influencing the world.

As many as 123 companies have been selected as the first batch enterprises of the project, such as Lenovo Group Limited, Sinovel Wind Co Ltd, Baidu Online Network Technology Co Lt, and Hanvon Technology Co Ltd. The Highly Information Industry Co Ltd and 182 other companies have been listed in the second batch.

Member companies under the leading group of the Zhongguancun National Innovation Demonstration Zone are responsible for implementing the work program, gathering resources and integrating related polices. They will also update the working mechanism, improve service efficiency, and step up supervision and examination to create an ideal environment for enterprises to grow bigger and stronger.
