On April 19 and 20, a Hui style traditional dwellings protection & utilization forum, hosted by Anhui University of Architecture, co-organized by Anhui Architecture Design & Research Institute and organized by the University of Science & Technology China, was held in Huangshan city.
Distinguished experts, both from home and abroad, attended the forum and delivered some reports.
The deputy mayor, Xu Deshu delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He said there are thousands of traditional dwellings and many traditional villages in Huangshan city. All of those Hui style architectures represent a unique culture and have formed an intrinsic feature of the city.
The government has long been endeavoring to preserve and utilize the ancient architectures, and has conducted a number of successful researches for this purpose.
Xu also expressed his warm welcome to the participants of the meeting and invited their suggestions. He was confident that Huangshan Mountain would become a paradise where beautiful mountains and water features can be seen, and nostalgic sentiment can be stored.
