According to reports, the earliest date for a public bicycle rental card system is like yo to be by the end of this month. By then, people in Hefei in Anhui province will be able to get on a small yellow low-carbon environmental bike to make a Swan Lake tour.
It's reported that about 100 vehicles have been positioned in four rental stations, witharound 24 bikes in each rental station. The "Little yellow car" debut has attracted the attention many people, who have stepped forward to advise on how to handle the rental card and when they would like to ride a public bike. "By the end of the month, the public will be able to ride a public bike," a spokesman from Intelligence Sharing Transport Co.,Ltd. said.
The current public bike rental system is in its final commissioning stage and will allow the public to use them in a simple way. According to reports, the rental process will be very simple. People willswipe their card onto a specific area, and when the system display shows "OK", and the beam locks on, the parking lights flash, and you can then remove the lock, and pick up the bike. And when returning the bike, people first find an empty parking space, and place the parking lock into the notch on the beam. When the light turns green or stops blinking, the bike has been returned successfully.
As the public bike is colored light yellow, many people think the nickname "little yellow" will become the nickname for the public bike, and later a cartoon image of Hefei’s public bicycles could be designed for promotional purposes. Some people have also suggested that Hefei could learn from the successful experience of other cities, combined with the actual situation in Hefei, to construct the country's first public bicycle business model of "government support, acting as a corporate body, with varied investments, representing the interests of all the public, with scientific management, and market-oreinted operations", to give it real Hefei characteristics.
Currently, four rental stations have been set up in the central district of Hehei, and another five will soon follow. Hefei High-tech Zone, Lake district, and Luyang district also showed their willingness to develop public bike systems in two sessions at Hefei.
The public bicycle rental system is an integrated system. If people over-run their rental time, they will not only be fined, but also be given a bad record which will affect future rentals ofpublic bicycles. Considering that there may be occasions when the public might be unable to return the bikes on time, a pre-payment function will be opened to guarantee the continued the use of public bicycles, and avoid bad records.
