Huangshan Mountain scenery area has just received a certificate of achievement from CED (the World Centre of Excellence for Destinations). It is now the 16th tourism city to have gained this distinction in China, and the first scenic area with it in the world.
The certificate of achievement reads: Certified by CED, Huangshan Mountain has successfully implemented SMED (System for Measuring Excellence in Destinations) and is therefore approved by the CED as a member of the network to work together towards even greater excellence.
Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Montreal, the CED is an NPO devoted to investigating and creating means to promote the sustainable development of tourist destinations across the world. As an important partner of UNWTO (the United Nations World Tourism Organization) and the PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Association), the CED is a worldwide authority for evaluating tourist destinations.
Huangshan Mountain is presently planning to collaborate with other excellent destinations to play a larger role in shaping world standards and to enlarge its international reputation.
