The Anhui provincial expressway authority recently confirmed that the expressway will not be free of charge on Chinese New Year's Eve, which falls on January 30.
Mei Jin, head of the Anhui Transportation Bureau, said at a teleconference for 2014 Spring Festival transportation that during the Spring Festival holidays, Anhui will carry out a free-access policy issued by the State Department of Transportation. The policy will be in effect from January 31 to February 6.
It’s estimated that the transportation volume may reach 13 million in the province during the Spring Festival Golden Week, a year-on-year increase of 6.8 percent, creating challenges for transportation.
