A Photoshop competition on Chinese drums was launched in Wanda Cultural Tourism City of Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province, on Nov 16.
The competition is organized by the Wanda Cultural Tourism City, and it aims to promote the unique folk culture and long history of Anhui province. It is also part of a promotion campaign for the cultural landmark of Hefei – the exhibition center of Wanda city.
Participants worldwide should submit their entries by December 6. All fans of Chinese drum culture and those who are interested in Wanda city are welcome to compete for the marvelous prize – a free Disneyland tour in the US.
Since the grand opening ceremony on Nov 2, Wanda city has amazed visitors with its drum-shaped architecture and traditional local characteristics. It has even drawn attention from designers abroad.
“We found that many netizens created images based on the drum with their Photoshop skills. We are surprised to see their talent and creativity in their works, such as a drum-shaped grinder and a drum-like stage for Anhui Opera. The most popular is the drum-shaped hotpot,” a person in charge of Wanda city said on the ceremony.
He said these creative works promote Chinese drum culture, serving the competition’s goal and providing a chance for all fans of Chinese culture to know more about the traditional instrument. The organizer displayed some of the entry products, including running horse, floating giant rubber duck and figure of Buddha.
Submissions opened on Nov 16 and Wanda Group will cooperate with media to promote the event. The official source material can be downloaded for creative production.
Wonderful prizes, including a free Disneyland tour in the US, a Macbook laptop and iPad mini, will be awarded to the most creative entries, the most positive entries and the entries that fit the image of Wanda city most at the awards ceremony.
