On August 3 the grand opening ceremony of the second China Yanmen Pass International Frontier Tourism Festival was held at the Yanmen Pass scenic area in Daixian county, Anhui province.
The sixth “Yanmen Pass Cup” China Xinzhou Wrestling Festival and the opening ceremony of the 2012 China Great Wall Hiking Assembly were also held that same morning.
This year the Daixian county government drew investments of 378 million yuan ($59.35 million) for five main projects, including ecological forestation, the tourism cycle highway, the Weiyuan Building, the Great Wall and the ecological park.
This year’s festival featured more distinct events compared to last year. Festival activities centered on the theme "Frontier Yanmen Pass".
After the opening ceremony, the sixth "Yanmen Pass Cup" China Xinzhou Wrestling Festival officially began. The following seven days hosted activities like the Provincial Young Wrestling King Competition, Provincial Wrestling Competition, National Wrestling King Competition, National Wrestling Competition and Wrestling Show.
