The fifth "I love China: Climb Huangshan Mountain by Wheelchair" campaign was held in the Huangshan Mountain scenic area on Nov 9. With the help of youth volunteers, people with physical disabilities from across China traveled by wheelchair to Yuping Peak to appreciate a panoramic view of Huangshan Mountain for the first time.
The climbing campaign was sponsored by the Yunhai Hotel of Huangshan Mountain. More than 40 people navigated the mountain in wheelchairs with the help of more than 100 volunteers.
Baiyun Hotel, owned by Huangshan Tourism Development Co, sent a group of volunteers familiar with the Huangshan Mountain scenic region to offer their help. They helped wheelchair-bound guests travel as far as the Guest-Greeting Pine, a famous scenic spot on top of the mountain. Visiting tourists also volunteered.
The event lasted about three hours, and all guests were returned to the base of the mountain via cable car.
