Situated in the southwest of Shucheng county of Lu'an city, this mountain is a national nature reserve, a national forest park and a national geological park. Its main peak, Laofo Summit (1,539 meters above sea level) faces Tianzhu Mountain (1,485 meters in elevation) at a distance.
It is blessed with abundant animal and plant resources. A total of 25 rare plant species under state protection are found in this mountain, including Emmenopterys henryi Oliv and Parrotia subaequalis. It is home to over 10 kinds of animals under state protection, such as musk deers, leopards and giant salamanders. This mountain not only has picturesque scenery, but also is a military area teeming with historical sites. It can be regarded as an ideal rest home and a summer resort, because its dense forests keep off the scorching summer heat and turn this land into a natural oxygen bar.
