Standing by Jiuduntang Lake in the center of Lu'an City, this cemetery occupies an area of over seven hectares and consists of two parts: the memorial area and relaxation area.
The memorial area in the center of the cemetery is composed of a number of memorial buildings and relevant facilities, such as the memorial tower of revolutionary martyrs, the statue of Xu Jishen (1901-1931), the exhibition hall for the revolutionary careers of 108 generals from West Anhui, the square where visitors can mourn for the dead, and some memorial pavilions.
In the exhibition hall, visitors can see the introduction to 100 famous martyrs' brave deeds in the revolutionary war, the name list of 420 martyrs at or above regimental level, 192 volumes of the archives for those known martyrs, and 2,100 articles left by them, of which, 13 are national first-class revolutionary cultural relics.
Around the exhibition hall is the relaxation area where there is the Sun-Moon Pond, arched bridge, many seed plots, flowers, lawns and recreation ground. Now this cemetery has been designated as a national defense education base of Anhui by the provincial government and the Anhui Military Region.
