Dalong (Large Dragon) Mountain stands north of Anqing city, 15 km from the downtown area.

The lofty mountain range rolls for hundreds of kilometers, just like a flying dragon, hence its name. It covers an area of 132 square km with the mountainous area of 120 square km and water surface of 12 square km.
The Dalong Mountain Scenic Zone is composed of four major parts: The Stone Trees Growing in the Holy Mountain, Shitang Lake, Baochong Lake and the First Buddhist Temple of Longshan Mountain. In the scenic area are 92 peaks, 82 rocks, 72 ridges, 36 valleys and 108 oddly shaped rocks and four streams—Dark Dragon, White Dragon, Yellow Dragon and Red Dragon streams, as well as six waterfalls. It is a typical scenic area combining mountain and lake.
This area attracted many men of letters of different eras and they left behind nearly 100 poems to eulogize its beauty. Local celebrities include Deng Shiru (1743-1805), a famous master calligraphy, Chen Duxiu (1879-1942), a co-founder of the Communist Party of China, Yan Fengying (1931-1968), a famous artist of Huangmei Opera and Deng Jiaxian (1924-1986), Father of China's A-Bomb and H-Bomb.
