A press conference was held in Changchun, North China's Jilin province, on June 10, to highlight the province's development in intelligent manufacturing, as well as the future direction of its industrial growth.

In recent years, Jilin has made plans to promote stable industrial growth, adjust its industrial structure, and promote development.

Prosperous development has been witnessed in its traditional pillar industries, represented by automobiles, petrochemicals, and agricultural product processing; its advantageous industries, represented by medicine, health and equipment manufacturing; and its emerging industries, such as energy-saving and new energy vehicles, satellites and general aviation.

In 2020, the added value of the industries above a designated size in the province increased by 6.9 percent year-on-year, driving regional GDP growth up 2.3 percentage points.

The enterprise innovation system has been continuously improved. By the end of 2020, Jilin province had successfully cultivated nine national technological innovation demonstration enterprises, and 2,495 high-tech enterprises.

Enterprises based in the province, including Jilin Sino-Microelectronics Co, Jilin OLED Material Tech Co, and FAW Jiefang have become leading enterprises in the national manufacturing industry.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Jilin will continue to promote its intelligent manufacturing sector, cultivate more than 100 digital transformation pilot demonstration enterprises in the manufacturing industry, and help more than 1,000 enterprises to embrace a digital transformation.

Efforts will also be made to guide more than 10,000 enterprises to integrate with cloud computing, big data and other new generation information technology, so as to drive the development of intelligent manufacturing in Jilin province.
