Venue: Shilin County of Kunming, each county and city of Chuxiong Prefecture, Jingdong County, Jinggu County, Zhenyuan County, Jiangcheng County, Lancang County and Ning’er County of Pu’er City, Xinping County and Eshan County of Yuxi City, Weishan County and Nanjian County of Dali Prefecture

As the most famous and jolliest festivals of Yis and renowned as “Orient Carnival”, Torch Festival is appraised by the International Festivals and Events Association as one of the ten festivals of China with the most developmental potential. The festival falls on 24^th day of the sixth month by lunar calendar every year, on this occasion, sports activities like bullfight and wrestling are held in daytime; thousands of burning torches release the passion of life in the sea of people with endless singing and dancing in nighttime.
