6月12日，伊朗省會(huì)城市阿瓦士的政府辦公大樓等地發(fā)生四起連環(huán)炸彈爆炸事件，造成至少9人死亡，近40人受傷。胡齊斯坦省副省長(zhǎng)沙里阿提表示，這次連環(huán)爆炸事件的目的是為了破壞伊朗的團(tuán)結(jié)，影響將于17日舉行的總統(tǒng)選舉。外電報(bào)道如下：Bomb blasts struck Iranian government buildings in the capital of an oil-rich border province, followed within hours by two other bombs in central Tehran, killing a total of nine people days before Iran's presidential elections.
Iran's security service blamed the bombings - the deadliest in Iran in more than a decade - on supporters of ousted Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein.
State-run television quoted hospital officials as saying at least eight people were killed and 86 injured in four bomb explosions in Ahvaz, capital of the southwestern Khuzestan province bordering Iraq.
Hours later, two small bombs exploded in central Tehran, killing one person and wounding four. Police said one suspect was taken into custody.
Take into custody表示“拘留，拒捕”，custody除了“保管，監(jiān)管，監(jiān)護(hù)權(quán)”等含義外，在此表示“扣留，監(jiān)禁”，例如：The criminal was taken into custody by the police.（罪犯被警方拘留。）take the robbery suspect into custody（拘捕搶劫嫌疑犯）等。
據(jù)悉，胡齊斯坦省是伊朗石油儲(chǔ)量最多的地區(qū)，其探明儲(chǔ)量占伊朗全國(guó)石油儲(chǔ)量的90%左右。同時(shí)該省也是民族矛盾比較尖銳的地區(qū)之一。伊朗的200多萬(wàn)阿拉伯族居民大部分居住在這個(gè)省。當(dāng)?shù)鼐用窈途浇?jīng)常發(fā)生摩擦，有時(shí)甚至釀成暴力沖突。今年4月13日，阿瓦士曾發(fā)生一起持續(xù)數(shù)天的嚴(yán)重騷亂，導(dǎo)致至少5人死亡。
