1940版的《傲慢與偏見》
 1940年版的電影是由Robert Z. Leonard 導(dǎo)演，Greer Garson (Elizabeth Bennet) 和Laurence Olivier (Mr. Darcy) 主演。整部電影并不太終于原著，導(dǎo)演將其拍成了喜劇風(fēng)格的影片。扮演女主角的Greer Garson是第十五屆奧斯卡影后獲得者，她曾被11個國家授予“最受觀眾喜愛的演員”和“最佳女演員”的榮譽。男主角的扮演者Laurence Olivier則是有史以來莎翁戲劇最偉大的演員之一。這一版的電影獲得了幾項大獎：
