民生銀行剛剛推出的“鉆石信用卡”透支額度最高達(dá)300萬元，對于引起輿論嘩然的“副部級以上高官也成了此卡的目標(biāo)人群”這一說法，民生解釋說：“‘鉆石卡’的發(fā)卡對象主要面向具有社會影響力的知名人士，并不是副部級就一定可以發(fā)。并且，擁有最高限額也不意味著就一定要消費這么多錢。”

senior officials have been targeted for a new credit card issued by
Minsheng Bank that carries a monthly overdraft of three million yuan, 60
times the current maximum prescribed by regulations.
In defense of their "Diamond Credit Card" service, the bank said this
type of credit cards is mainly designed for the upper classes people like
celebrities, business tycoons and senior officials, but denied it singled
out officials above the rank of vice minister as its targeted clients.
在報道中，overdraft 最為準(zhǔn)確的釋義是：the maximum amount of credit extended to a
customer（銀行透支給客戶的最大限額）。Overdraft實際上由over和draft合成而來，詞綴over指“to exceed or
surpass”，類似的構(gòu)詞如：“overcharge，overload，oversupply”。Draft在商業(yè)術(shù)語中指：“匯票；付款通知單；款項的支取”，如：a
demand draft（即期匯票）；He has got money from China to overseas by
draft.（他把錢從國內(nèi)匯到了國外）。
Overdraft由此可以指“透支的款項”或“允許透支的最大額度”，如：He has a huge overdraft to pay off.
（他有一大筆透支款要償還。）順便提一下，“透支”的動詞形式是overdraw，舉個例子，Your bank account was
overdrawn to the extent of 10, 000
yuan.（你的銀行賬戶透支已達(dá)到10000元。）
