Witness 這個詞大家并不陌生，報道中作名詞用，指的是“（法庭上的）證人”，如,to call a witness in sb.'s
defense（請證人為某人辯護）。Witness 還可表示“見證人；目擊者”，a witness of the
accident，意思就是“事故的目擊者”；He is the witness of their wedding.（他是他們婚禮的見證人。）
Witness 還可作動詞用，表示“親眼目睹”，如，We witnessed tremendous changes in the
city.（我們親眼目睹了城市的巨大變化。）
