美國軍方7月20日將兩名阿富汗人從古巴關塔那摩灣美軍監(jiān)獄釋放，獲釋后他們對監(jiān)獄看守的虐待行為表示了憤慨，并透露在過去兩周里，有180名犯人在這里發(fā)起了絕食運動，要求當局改善監(jiān)獄條件。外電報道如下：Two Afghans released from Guantanamo
Bay claimed Wednesday about 180 Afghans at the U.S. detention facility
were on a hunger strike to protest alleged mistreatment and to push
for freedom.
Habir Russol and Moheb Ullah Borekzai, who said they left the prison
camp on Cuba on Monday and were flown to Afghanistan before being freed,
said they did not participate in the hunger strike. They did not say how
they knew others were refusing to eat.
Hunger strike表示“絕食示威，絕食抗議”，絕食抗議者是“hunger striker”。相關的詞組還有a general

據(jù)悉，自2001年美國對阿富汗發(fā)動軍事行動后，有數(shù)百名阿富汗人被送到關塔那摩灣囚禁。美軍已釋放了其中的200多人，但目前仍有105名阿富汗人被關押在關塔那摩。
