BYD Co, Chongqing Changan Automobile Co, Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co and Beijing Hyundai Motor Co are among 16 automakers to have models approved for China's energy-efficiency subsidy of 3,000 yuan per car, the National Development and Reform Commission said.

A total of 71 car models were approved for subsidies, the Chinese government planning agency said in a statement posted on its website today, without identifying the other carmakers or any of the endorsed makes.
