Cowell donates GBP81,000 to young cancer patient

Kind-hearted American Idol judge Simon Cowell has pledged to give the family of a young cancer patient GBP81,000 - so they can pay off their mortgage.
The music mogul appeared on U.S. TV talk show queen Oprah Winfrey's Oprah's Big Give show on Monday (17Mar08), where he announced he would donate the sum to the Stoen family.
The family drives over 100 miles (161 kilometres) every day to ensure their daughter can receive treatment for the disease, and Cowell insists helping them out has been hugely rewarding.
He said, "I never knew that doing good could feel so good."
