"Defensive referendum" is but a misnomer for "Offensive treason"

wchao37  Updated: 2003-12-18 09:47

Around Chen Suibian is an unprecedented gathering of uncouth mamasans eager to sell our Taiwan province out to the highest foreign bidder under the camouflage of seeking independence through referendum.

The slit-eyed barrister himself couldn't even win in regional competition against Ma Ying Jeou in the 1999 Taipei mayoral election, let alone a national one. It was only because the Pan-Blue votes were split that Hanjian Lee Tenghui was able to to maneuver to get him into his present position by rumor-mongering about James Soong and misleading the public about the true vote-count two weeks before election date in 2000.

Mind you that I am pro-Taiwan too - the Taiwanese are our flesh and blood brothers in our big-hearted Chinese nation -- but only within the overall framework and context of our righteous One China stand.

If you ponder a little deeper you'll realize that there is no such thing as "pro-China" just like there is no such thing as "pro-beauty." It is a law of nature that no one likes ugliness over beauty so it is superfluous to talk about someone being 'pro-beauty.' Likewise a full-blooded Chinese who truly understands China's history and the beauty of her culture would never have to make apologies for his 'pro-China' stand.

In my opinion, for us to be fortunate enough to be born Chinese -- and alive today to be able to witness the revival of the Chinese nation -- is the greatest blessing that can be bestowed upon us, just like being born beautiful can be a priceless gift provided that we do not desecrate the blessing by letting it become a burden of vanity. So it is superfluous to talk about a person's being 'pro-China' just as it is unnecessary to talk about his being 'pro-beauty.'

We want our Taiwanese compatriots to live well with dignity. That can only be achieved in the context of living as a member of the Chinese nation, and not as the appendix of a foreign country. There is no historical, legal, cultural, anthropological, or any you-name-it-I-can-refute-it basis for it to become independent. Therefore, justifiably If independence is declared in Taiwan through Chen's staging an insidious 'defensive' referendum, the PLA would have no alternative but to meet the challenge head-on with whatever-it-takes measures.

The fact that even Bush is now saying he doesn't support a unilateral referendum by Chen to change the status quo means that even he recognizes that his previous "do-whatever-it-takes-to-defend-Taiwan" posture was flawed. Otherwise how is he going to justify to his own troops asking them to make the ultimate sacrifice fighting the PLA over an island the leader of whom he has now pointedly labeled as "leader" and not "president" in front of the world's media?

So if Chen is not the president of the island which is repeatedly acknowledged as a part of China according to the One China Principle espoused by Bush, this trouble-maker can only be the leader of a harem of wannabe transvestite toads frolicking away in cacophony atop a moonlit cesspool.

Let me explain in another way - Taiwan is a beautiful hand in the body of a Person called the Mother of all Chinas. No matter how much this person loves his hand, he can't sever it from the rest of his body and expect it to remain viable. In short, the hand needs uncut nerves and blood vessels leading from the rest of the body for continued sustenance.

Suppose you are a full-blood Chinese and you were born in the image of that Person -- black hair black eyes and yellow-pinkish skin. I hope you can show us how much you really care for Taiwan by showing us how much you care about the rest of your body -- the Mainland.
