深受關注的滬杭磁懸浮交通項目和京滬高速鐵路項目近日雙雙獲得國務院批準。這也意味著爭論達13年之久、海內外極為矚目的京滬及滬杭間的高速鐵路方案終于水落石出。磁懸浮列車是一種新型交通工具，利用磁力使車體浮離地面，再利用電機推進，它就像一架超低空飛機在貼近特殊的軌道上運行。

報道中的maglev就是備受海內外關注的"磁懸浮列車"，由 magnetic（磁力的）和 levitation（懸?。┖铣啥鴣恚谟⒄Z中，這種詞法組合叫做blending（混合詞），如：comsat（通訊衛(wèi)星）--communication(通訊) + satellite(衛(wèi)星) ，fruice（果汁飲料）--fruit（水果） + juice（果汁），Interpol（國際警察）--International（國際）+ police（警察）。
Levitation的動詞形式是levitate（使升空，在空中飄浮），由此，如果我們看到名詞levity，可以試著猜一猜"懸在空中的抽象引申意" 可以它表示 lack of seriousness （輕浮，不穩(wěn)重），舉個例子This is no time for levity-we have important matters to discuss（現(xiàn)在可不是開玩笑的時候，我們有重要事情要討論）。
