2月14日，中共中央舉辦的省部級(jí)主要領(lǐng)導(dǎo)干部建設(shè)社會(huì)主義新農(nóng)村專題研討班在中央黨校開班。中共中央總書記、國家主席、中央軍委主席胡錦濤在開班式上發(fā)表重要講話。他指出，全黨同志和全國上下要團(tuán)結(jié)一心、扎實(shí)工作，真正使建設(shè)社會(huì)主義新農(nóng)村成為惠及廣大農(nóng)民群眾的民心工程。

down-to-earth表示realistic or interested in everyday occurrences; practical and honest，這個(gè)詞的意思很豐富，在不同語境下需要靈活理解，有"實(shí)際的，切實(shí)的，樸實(shí)的，腳踏實(shí)地"等意思。上文中" a down-to-earth approach"是"一個(gè)切實(shí)可行的辦法"的意思。舉個(gè)例子：She is very down-to-earth and will tell you what she really thinks.（她很實(shí)在，會(huì)告訴你她的真實(shí)想法。）
如果某人對你說"Down to earth"，他的意思是讓你現(xiàn)實(shí)一點(diǎn)（"Back to reality"）。down to earth可以作為一個(gè)介詞詞組，和一些動(dòng)詞連用，如：bring sb. back／down to earth的意思"使某人從幻想中清醒過來"；come back／down to earth是"回到現(xiàn)實(shí)中來, 不再幻想"的意思。
